Facility:
This is a small, community-based hospital offering a collaborative and physician-respected work environment with a friendly and supportive nursing staff. The facility benefits from a collegial relationship between the ED team and surgeons, a strong case management team to support patient discharge processes, and a robust overnight hospitalist MD team.

Job Details:

  • Locum Physician Assistant (PA) Hospitalist opportunity beginning December 2026 and ongoing
  • Shifts are Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm with in-person presence required in the unit/hospital during the shift
  • No call coverage required
  • 100% adult inpatient and observation patient population with an average of 8-10 patients per day
  • 100% in-hospital admissions with inpatient floor level of care and intermediate level of care responsibilities
  • Must be able to respond to codes and rapid responses
  • Must be able to manage stabilization of critically ill patients and arrange transport to tertiary care level
  • Experience managing step-down level patients required
  • 2-3 years of inpatient hospitalist adult medicine experience required
  • Active Vermont state license required or willingness to obtain
  • Acute Care APRN and all required certifications for Physician Assistant required
  • Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required, no exceptions
  • NPDB required at offer (within 30 days)
  • EMR experience with Cerner Community Works; AI scribe support available
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days pending timely Vermont state license

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
