About the facility

This facility operates as part of an established health system and maintains a structured inpatient hospitalist program supported by a team of 11 physicians. A critical care physician provides assistance with ICU patients during morning hours, and a Tele ICU Service supports the care of critically ill patients in the afternoon and on weekends. Subspecialty services available on-site include cardiology, orthopedics, nephrology, general surgery, urology, infectious disease, and psychiatry, and a Tele Neurology service is available to assist with neurology cases.

About the clinician's workday

Clinicians will provide inpatient hospitalist coverage during night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) on an on-site basis, with coverage dates of December 25 - December 29; new clinicians are required to report for orientation the day prior to the first scheduled shift. Responsibilities include traditional and interdisciplinary rounding, admissions, consults, management of vent patients in the ICU, and coverage of stroke and brain bleed cases in coordination with Neurology and Tele Neurology services; procedures are optional. All clinical documentation is completed using the EPIC EMR system. Board certification and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association are required; board-certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine clinicians with hospitalist experience are eligible for consideration.
