Job description
About the facility
This approximately 520-bed inpatient facility operates within a structured hospitalist nocturnist coverage model and maintains established clinical protocols and appropriate resources to support locum tenens clinicians. The facility features a closed ICU and provides access to virtually all in-house specialist support, with the exception of select subspecialties such as Rheumatology, Endocrinology, and Dermatology, for which tele-dermatology services are available. An additional nocturnist and an APP nocturnist provide overlapping coverage to support admissions and crosscover, ensuring coordinated care delivery throughout each assigned shift. State licensure is required at the time of assignment; IMLC is not accepted at this facility.
About the facility location
Denver offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of cultural and natural attractions suited to varied interests. Destinations include Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, the Denver Art Museum, the Clyfford Still Museum, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and the Denver Botanic Gardens. Additional attractions include Coors Field, the Molly Brown House Museum, and Denver Union Station, which serves as a central transit hub. Clinicians can expect warm days with occasional afternoon thunderstorms during summer months.
About the clinician's workday
Clinicians will provide inpatient nocturnist hospitalist coverage during 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) on an on-site basis, managing 8-10 admissions per shift. The 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM nocturnist is responsible for admissions only; crosscover and rapid response responsibilities are not required during the primary shift hours, with the exception of urgent crosscover needs within the 5:00 AM - 7:00 AM window after the overlapping nocturnist shift concludes. The ICU is closed, and no procedures are required for this assignment. Board certification or eligibility is required, prescriptive authority is required, and a minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
