# Locum APP Hospitalist – Adult Inpatient

## ⚡ POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

* **Position:** APP Hospitalist – Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
* **Job Type:** Locum Tenens
* **Start:** December 2026 and ongoing
* **Schedule:** Monday–Friday, **9:00 AM–6:00 PM**
* **Setting:** Inpatient / Hospital-Based
* **Call:** No Call
* **Patient Population:** **100% Adult Inpatient/Observation**
* **Patient Volume:** Approximately **8–10 patients per day**
* **Patient Acuity:** Inpatient/observation and intermediate/step-down level
* **EMR:** Cerner Community Works
* **AI Scribe Support Available**
* **Temporary Privileges:** Available
* **Credentialing:** Approximately **60–90 days**, pending timely Vermont licensure
* **Experience:** **2–3 years of hospitalist/inpatient adult medicine experience preferred**
* **Licensure:** Vermont license required or willingness to obtain
* **Certifications:** Board Certified, BLS, ACLS, DEA

## 🏥 JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a **Locum APP Hospitalist** to provide daytime inpatient coverage in a collaborative, community-based hospital environment.

The APP will care for adult inpatient and observation patients, working closely with physicians, nursing staff, emergency medicine providers, surgeons, and case management. This opportunity offers a collegial clinical environment with strong physician and nursing support.

Coverage is expected to begin in **December 2026 and continue ongoing**, with no current limit on the duration for the right candidate.

## 📅 SCHEDULE

* **Monday–Friday**
* **9:00 AM–6:00 PM**
* In-person coverage required throughout the scheduled shift
* Provider remains in the hospital/unit during assigned hours
* **No call**
* Daytime hospitalist coverage

## 🩺 CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:

* Management of adult inpatient and observation patients
* Responding to **codes and rapid response events**
* Management of patients requiring intermediate/step-down level care
* Stabilization and initial management of critically ill patients
* Arranging appropriate transfer to tertiary-care facilities when indicated
* Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, emergency department providers, surgeons, and case management
* Supporting safe and efficient inpatient care and discharge planning

### Preferred Clinical Experience

* **Ventilator management experience preferred**
* Hospitalist experience strongly preferred
* Adult inpatient medicine experience preferred
* Experience managing higher-acuity/step-down patients preferred

## 📋 REQUIREMENTS

* **Acute Care APRN/NP qualification – Required**
* **Board Certification – Required**
* **Vermont license – Required or willingness to obtain**
* **DEA – Required**
* **BLS – Required**
* **ACLS – Required**
* **2–3 years of hospitalist or adult inpatient medicine experience preferred**
* Clean professional background
* No malpractice or professional license issues
* NPDB report required as part of the credentialing process

## ⏳ CREDENTIALING

* Estimated timeframe: **60–90 days**
* Timing is dependent on timely Vermont state licensure
* Temporary privileges are available
* Ongoing coverage beginning **December 2026**
