This medical center is part of a fully integrated, large-scale healthcare system offering seamless access to specialists, diagnostic services, and transfer resources. The facility features a recently renovated Emergency Department managing approximately 40,000 annual ED visits and utilizes Epic EMR with Dragon dictation, providing a modern and well-supported clinical environment with strong physician, APP, and nursing support.

Advanced Practitioners - Hospitalist/Emergency
Job Details:
- Unique hybrid nocturnist role combining Emergency Medicine and Surgical Services overnight coverage
- Evaluate and manage lower-acuity Emergency Department patients independently, including comprehensive history and physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation and interpretation, and treatment of common emergency conditions
- Perform minor procedures within APP scope of practice and manage reassessment and disposition of patients
- Provide appropriate consultation and escalation of care, collaborating closely with the attending Emergency Medicine physician
- Provide overnight surgical admission coverage including completion of admission histories, physical examinations, orders, and initial treatment plans
- Evaluate postoperative and surgical patients with acute clinical concerns and coordinate with the on-call surgeon
- Recognize and escalate patients requiring urgent surgical intervention as appropriate
- Full-time or part-time scheduling options available
- Must be a graduate of an accredited PA or APRN program with current Connecticut licensure and appropriate national certification
- Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Hospital Medicine, Surgery, or related acute-care experience preferred
- Must be comfortable working overnight in a fast-paced clinical environment with the ability to work independently while recognizing when physician or surgical consultation is necessary
