Oncology Physician Assistant Needed in Georgia

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant with Oncology experience for a locum tenens position at an outpatient cancer center in Georgia. This role involves providing care to adult patients in a community practice setting. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes Patient Support Specialists, MAs, Chemo nurses, Pharm techs, and other APPs. The position requires strong assessment and documentation skills, independent clinical decision-making, and the ability to adapt to physician preferences for care and treatment. You will primarily handle office visits in Oncology and Hematology, with no procedures or bone marrow involvement. The center is equipped with an in-house infusion center with 12 chairs, and any adverse infusion reactions are handled by transferring patients to a nearby hospital. EMR charting is done through ONCO, using Dragon or directly into the system via pre-built note templates.

Requirements:

Board Certification: Required (Oncology, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice)
State License: Required
Certifications: BLS required
Credentialing Timeframe: About 30 days for temp privileges
