This regional medical center serves as a cornerstone of healthcare in Northeast Texas, offering a well-supported 15-bed department with a Level 3 trauma designation. The facility provides a collaborative environment with strong administrative support and a broad scope of surgical services for both adult and pediatric patients.

Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:

  • Provide general surgery services with 0-5 patient encounters per shift in a 15-bed department
  • Perform general surgery on adult, pediatric, and trauma patients
  • Laparoscopic surgery preferred, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication
  • Head and neck surgery including thyroid procedures preferred
  • Chest wall and pleural procedures preferred
  • Obstetric and gynecologic surgery preferred, including cesarean section, D&C, and hysterectomy
  • GI endoscopy preferred, including upper and lower procedures such as sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy
  • Liver surgery preferred
  • Vascular surgery preferred, including aneurysm repairs (thoracic and abdominal), arterial bypass, peripheral vascular, vascular access devices, and AV shunt
  • Minor orthopedics and hand surgery preferred
  • Ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement preferred
  • Laser certification preferred
  • Plastic surgery preferred
  • Additional pediatric surgical procedures preferred, including esophageal, intestinal, and biliary atresias, abdominal wall defects, umbilical defects, diaphragmatic hernia, imperforate anus, and PDA ligation
  • Must hold an active Texas medical license - no IMLC accepted
  • Board certification required with ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe of 30 days
  • Nearest airports are DFW or Love Field
  • Locum Tenens engagement - ASAP start with ongoing need

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
