About the clinician's workday

The clinician will provide general surgery coverage on 24-hour shifts beginning 11/15 at 5:00 AM through 11/17 at 7:00 AM, encompassing both inpatient and outpatient clinic duties, with call required during nights and weekends on a solo coverage basis. Primary responsibilities include performing upper and lower scopes, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, food bolus management, bowel obstruction management, and hernia repair, with volumes of up to 8 elective surgical cases per day and 25 patients per day during outpatient clinic. ICU and critical care duties may be required; the clinician will not be expected to respond to codes but will be required to cover consults and procedures in the ED during call. All clinical documentation must be completed using the EPIC EMR system; board certification in General Surgery, BLS certification, and a minimum of five years of experience are preferred, with ACLS and PALS required if conscious sedation privileges are sought.
