Advanced Practitioners - Surgery

Job Details:

  • Serve as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant within the SubSpecialty Surgical Services division in an inpatient surgical setting
  • Responsibilities include ED consults, responding to trauma activations, rounding on patients, and first-assisting in the OR
  • Surgical subspecialty areas include Bariatric, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Urology, Colorectal, and Vascular specialties
  • Full-time position with 40-hour work weeks, 13-hour shifts, with occasional Saturdays
  • No call schedule required
  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team members, including referrals to specialists
  • Identify problems outside of scope of practice and refer appropriately to physicians
  • Must hold an unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License or be eligible to obtain one
  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience in a surgical setting required; new graduates should have surgical experience from training or previous career
