Job Details:

  • Unique opportunity to help lead the foundation and growth of an established surgical team
  • Join a collaborative Surgical Subspecialties team that prides itself on exceptional teamwork, communication, and provider autonomy
  • Serve as first-assist in the OR with extensive hands-on surgical experience
  • Responsible for ED and inpatient consults, admissions, rounding, discharges, and invasive bedside procedures
  • Exposure to a diverse case mix including General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, and Plastic Surgery
  • Experience with robotic-assisted procedures, vascular interventions, breast reconstruction, and thoracic surgery
  • Role is open to Physician Assistants only
  • Inpatient setting within surgical subspecialties
  • Full-time position with day/night rotating schedule
  • No call required
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
  • Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in surgery or a related setting required
  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team members
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within scope of practice and refer appropriately when needed

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
