Job Details:
- Unique opportunity to help lead the foundation and growth of an established surgical team
- Join a collaborative Surgical Subspecialties team that prides itself on exceptional teamwork, communication, and provider autonomy
- Serve as first-assist in the OR with extensive hands-on surgical experience
- Responsible for ED and inpatient consults, admissions, rounding, discharges, and invasive bedside procedures
- Exposure to a diverse case mix including General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, and Plastic Surgery
- Experience with robotic-assisted procedures, vascular interventions, breast reconstruction, and thoracic surgery
- Role is open to Physician Assistants only
- Inpatient setting within surgical subspecialties
- Full-time position with day/night rotating schedule
- No call required
- Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
- Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant
- Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in surgery or a related setting required
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
- Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team members
- Provide appropriate treatment for problems within scope of practice and refer appropriately when needed
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
