Job Details:
- 13-month Post Graduate Clinical Fellowship in Surgery for Physician Assistants, welcoming both new graduates and experienced providers
- Rotations through multiple surgical departments including general surgery, trauma, thoracic, vascular, colorectal, and SICU
- Clinical rotations across multiple hospital campuses in Hartford, Norwich, and New Britain
- Inpatient setting across surgical subspecialties
- Full-time schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays with no call requirement
- Final rotation involves orienting the following year's fellowship physician assistants
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
- Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to specialists and other health team members
- Provide appropriate treatment for problems within scope of practice under established guidelines and in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Program start dates in April and October; application deadlines are April 1st and September 1st
- Application requires a one-page statement of interest, unofficial PA school transcript, and three letters of recommendation (from Program Director, Faculty, and a Physician or Physician Assistant)
