Advanced Practitioners - Surgery

Job Details:

  • Join a General Surgery team where Advanced Practitioners serve as the main clinical driver of care and practice at full scope
  • Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners
  • Setting: Inpatient, general surgery
  • Full-time position with 3x13 hour shifts, primarily Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 7:30pm
  • Premium differentials offered for applicable shifts
  • No call schedule required
  • First-assist in a variety of robotic surgeries on a consistent weekly basis in the OR
  • Subspecialties include emergency general surgery, bariatric, colorectal, minimally invasive, and hepatobiliary surgeries
  • Participate in an upcoming robotic training program to perform cutting-edge robotic surgeries
  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of patient health needs, including referrals to specialists and care team members
  • Provide appropriate treatment within the defined scope of practice under established guidelines and in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Utilize EPIC for clinical documentation and continuity of care
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
  • Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner required
  • New graduates are welcome to apply; 2+ years of experience in a surgical setting preferred
  • Dedicated support through the Office of Advanced Practice for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
  • Established mentorship and orientation programs available for newly hired providers

Compensation:
Employed salary with benefits.
