Are you passionate about helping individuals with communication, swallowing, and hearing disorders? The Illinois Department of Human Services is looking for two dedicated Hearing & Speech Specialists to join our team at the Shapiro Center in Kankakee, IL!

🔍 Position Overview
As a Hearing & Speech Specialist, you will provide professional clinical services, including testing, evaluation, and developing treatment regimens to support individuals in overcoming their speech, language, or hearing challenges. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, providing direct therapy, counseling, and guidance to staff.

💼 Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct speech and language assessments to evaluate individual needs.
- Provide therapy to address communication and swallowing impairments.
- Guide and supervise mental health technicians and other staff.
- Work as part of a collaborative team to develop personalized care plans.

💡 Minimum Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
- Illinois license to practice in the relevant field.
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in speech-language pathology.

💰 Salary:
$6,339 - $9,178/month ($76,068 - $110,136/year)
Shifts: Various (Monday-Friday with weekend shifts, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
