# Gastroenterologist – Locum Tenens

## ⚡ POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

* **Ongoing coverage need through 2026**
* **Monday 7:00 AM – Friday 7:00 PM**
* **No weekend call**
* Monday–Thursday: **24-hour call coverage, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM**
* Friday: **12-hour call coverage, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM**
* **ERCP experience/proficiency required**
* Hospitalist support available
* Two colorectal surgeons in the community
* GI clinic located less than half a mile from the hospital
* Community offers a **small-town atmosphere with access to big-city amenities and waterfront recreation**
* Local providers preferred
* **Malpractice coverage must be included in the submitted rate**

## 📅 Coverage Dates

Coverage is needed for the following periods:

### November 2026

* **November 23–27, 2026**

* Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM, 24-hour coverage
* Friday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 12-hour coverage

### December 2026

* **December 21–25, 2026**

* Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM, 24-hour coverage
* Friday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 12-hour coverage
* **December 28, 2026–January 1, 2027**

* Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM, 24-hour coverage
* Friday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 12-hour coverage

## 🩺 Clinical Requirements

* Provide gastroenterology coverage for inpatient and on-call needs.
* **ERCP is required.**
* Work collaboratively with hospitalists and other specialists.
* Coordinate patient care with the hospital's multidisciplinary medical team.
* Provide consultation and management of patients requiring gastroenterology services.
* Support urgent and emergent GI cases during assigned call periods.

## 📞 Call Structure

* **Monday–Thursday:** 24-hour call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
* **Friday:** 12-hour call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
* No weekend call.
* Daily 24-hour call structure includes **8 hours of in-house patient coverage and overnight call Monday–Thursday**.
* Friday 12-hour call includes **4 hours of patient contact**.
* Call-back compensation applies after the included patient-contact/in-house hours are completed.
* Holiday rates apply where applicable.

## 📋 Qualifications

* **Board Certified Gastroenterologist required.**
* Truly Board Eligible physicians may be considered.
* **Active Michigan medical license required.**
* Michigan IMLC licensure may be accepted for dates more than 60 days out, subject to applicable requirements.
* **ERCP required.**
* **DEA registration required by start date.**
* Clean malpractice history required.
* Ability to meet credentialing and medical staff requirements.
* Local providers preferred.

## 🩹 Health & Immunization Requirements

Providers must meet applicable employee-health requirements, including:

* Current seasonal flu vaccination
* COVID-19 vaccination documentation or applicable declination
* TB screening: two-step skin test within 12 months or Quantiferon within 6 months
* TB questionnaire
* Hepatitis B titer with quantifiable results or declination
* MMR vaccination series or quantifiable immunity titers
* Varicella vaccination series or quantifiable immunity titers
* Adult Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years

• Local providers preferred
