Gastroenterology – Locum Tenens call opportunity in Indiana!

Overview:
A group in Indiana is seeking a Gastroenterologist to provide dedicated in-house call coverage. This role involves a 7-day block schedule and focuses on inpatient consults, admissions, and managing transfers in a busy hospital environment. Physicians will work closely with a strong GI support team, including APPs and a rounding nurse.

Position Details

Schedule & Coverage:

In-house call only

7 consecutive days per assignment

Call required

Clinical Responsibilities:

Inpatient GI consults

Managing transfers

Coordination with hospitalists and GI team

Procedures as appropriate to scope of practice (if needed, can specify)

Support & Resources:

Dedicated support from APPs, rounding nurse, and the GI team

EMR: Athena

Hospital bed size: 365

Qualifications:

Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology

Comfortable with high-acuity inpatient GI consults

Experience managing consults, inpatients, and transfers

Active license (or ability to obtain) as required by state regulations
