The facility is structured to ensure continuity of specialized care for an adult patient population, with APP support available to assist with inpatient clinical operations on weekdays. Locum tenens gastroenterology coverage is sought for specific stretches throughout January through December 2027.

About the clinician's workday

The gastroenterologist will provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology coverage on a 24-hour shift basis across two facilities, with call coverage required for nights and weekends. Monday through Friday, the clinician will begin the day performing outpatient procedures at the first facility, then coordinate with the inpatient APP to review admitted patients requiring consultation before traveling approximately 30 minutes to the second facility to complete inpatient consults with that facility's APP team. The clinician will then remain on call overnight until approximately 7:30 AM, when outpatient procedures resume; APP support is available on weekdays but is not present on weekends, requiring the clinician to manage inpatient responsibilities independently during that time. Board certification in Gastroenterology is required for consideration.
