San Antonio Metro Area, Texas Emergency Medicine Need

Job description

• 19,000 annual ER volume
• 67 bed hospital
• 24 hours of physician coverage
• 12 hours of APP coverage
• 7a-7p, 7p-7a 12 & 24 hour shifts available
• ABEM or ABIM with recent EM case logs, ABFP accepted with recent EM case logs, Board Eligible Physicians accepted within 5 years of Residency completion.
• IM and FM MUST have completed a EM Residency in order to qualify
• Board Eligible - Non-ABEM Certified and Non-Board Certified Physicians: ACLS, PALS and ATLS required, ABEM Certified Physicians not required to have current Life Certs
• 48 total CMEs required in past 2 years - within the 48 total - need 9 trauma CMEs for past 3 years.
• Initial Credentialing case logs for past 2 years with a minimum patient activity of 30 EM patients within past 12 months
• As of now, they will still need a clean file for temps, however I spoke to the credentialer and we can make a strong case for any provider that has a dismissed case.
• MUST have a TX license.
• Radiology, full-service laboratory and telemetry
• Specific on-site diagnostic equipment will include: 64-slice CT scanner, dedicated x-ray suite, ultrasound and telemetry equipment · Immediate intervention for serious emergencies where treatment time is critical with quick transfer capabilities to any Methodist Healthcare facility
• 24-hour monitoring and testing of patients, such as chest pain cases
• Use of a Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) to allow staff to electronically transmit any diagnostic image from the Methodist ER Converse to any Methodist credentialed physician’s office, specialist or any Methodist hospital emergency room for seamless follow-up · Must be emergency medicine residency trained ABEM or ABOEM
• 12 hour physician shifts
• Nacogdoches is about 20-25 per day, and has 24 hours physician coverage. Admit rate is about 2-3%.
• IM and FM MUST have completed a EM Residency in order to qualify
