Emergency Medicine Physician (Locum Tenens) - North Carolina

Join our dedicated team in North Carolina for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in a high-volume emergency department! We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. This position offers flexibility and the chance to make a significant impact on patient care.

Position Details:

Start Month: ASAP
Estimated Length of Assignment: 6-12 months
Minimum Shifts Acceptable: 2 shifts per month

Clinical Requirements:

NIHSS certification required (ACLS not needed for board-certified docs)
Moderate and deep sedation testing required

Physician Shift Times:

Three 12-hour shifts per day:
Day Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM
Mid Shift: 11 AM - 11 PM
Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

APP Shift Coverage:

32.5 hours of NP/PA coverage daily:
Day Shift: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Mid Shift: 10 AM - 10 PM
Night Shift: 4:30 PM - 3 AM

Work Environment:

Annual Patient Volume: 46,000
Average Patients Per Day: 124
Percentage of Admitted Patients: 13%
No scribe coverage
EMR System: Epic

Licensing and Credentialing:

Active NC state license not required to apply, but must be in process
Privileging Timeframe: 60-90 days from submitted application
Expedited locum privileges available for those with a clean file, active license, DEA, and submitted application (approximately 2 weeks)
