Emergency Medicine physician needed for a South Louisiana ER locums opportunity through Schumacher. This is a lower volume hospital based ER with a projected April 2026 start and a need for a physician who can cover both days and nights.

Daily Volume: About 32 encounters per day
ED Beds: 7
Hospital Size: 22 beds
ICU: 4 bed centrally monitored ICU
Shift Times: 7a to 7p and 7p to 7a
Shift Length: 12 hours
No 24 Hour Shifts: Yes
Coverage: 24 hour physician coverage
Availability Need: 10 to 15 shifts per month
Minimum Block: 3 to 5 shifts
EMR: T System EV
Admission Rate: 3 percent
EMS Arrival: 9.5 percent
Transfer Rate: 4.7 percent
Specialty Backup: OB/GYN, cardiology, surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, and orthopedics on call
Interview: Medical director and hospital admin
Enrollment: Must enroll in LPF for 6 months or duration of assignment, not shift by shift

Requirements:
BC or BE in EM, IM, or FP
2 years ER experience
Active LA license
LA address DEA and CDS
ATLS, ACLS, and PALS
Board certification in hand for presentation
CME from past 2 years
Case logs from past 2 years
Education and training diplomas
SS card, driver’s license, TB documentation, and color photo
