Job description

Emergency Medicine physicians needed for a Louisiana ER locums opportunity through PEMM. This is a direct client opportunity, but the facility follows the HCA process. The site needs days and nights covered and may use multiple physicians to cover 15 to 20 shifts per month.

Opportunity Details:
Rate: $300 to $310/hr
Setting: Hospital based Emergency Department
Location: Louisiana
Start Date: June or July 2026
Trauma Level: Level 2
Annual Volume: About 65k
Shift Length: 12 hour shifts
Shift Times: 6a to 6p, 6p to 6a, 7a to 7p, and 7p to 7a
Coverage Need: 15 to 20 shifts per month
Coverage Model: Always 2 MDs on shift
APP Support: 6 to 7 APPs
EMR: Older Meditech, with upgrade expected later in 2026
Support: Specialty backup available
Neurosurgery: No neurosurgery backup

Requirements:
Active Louisiana license required
BC or BE in Emergency Medicine
FM considered only with ER fellowship
Extensive ER experience required
Case logs and procedure history required
Must be comfortable with tubes, vents, and central lines
Must be open to day and night coverage
