Med Ninjas is seeking a Physician for long term locum tenens coverage at an inpatient facility located in Mason City, IA
The Physician must be available for significant shift coverage from November 2026 and onwards.
This assignment includes emergency department coverage, onsite hospital coverage, ED physician responsibilities, APP supervision, trauma care, and no on-call requirement.

Locum Tenens Physician - Emergency Medicine
Shift: 9-hour and 12-hour shifts; day and night shifts available
Start Date: November 2026
End Date: Ongoing

Position Details:
Patient Population: Emergency Department; approximately 77 patients/day
Setting: Emergency Department / Hospital-Based
Responsibilities: ED physician coverage, supervision of 1–2 APPs, trauma care, evaluation and treatment of emergency patients
Required Procedures: ATLS required for trauma privileges
EMR System: EPIC
Support Staff: 1–2 Advanced Practice Providers; hospital-based emergency medicine team
Days Per Month: Approximately 15 open shifts per month
On-Call/Weekends: No on-call; weekend shifts available/required based on open-shift coverage

Required Procedures and Skills
Emergency Department physician coverage
Supervision of APPs
Trauma care
ATLS certification for trauma privileges
Management of emergency patients across day and night shifts

Requirements
Must be able to cover a significant number of open shifts
Ability to obtain privileges quickly; no lengthy work histories
Board Certified ABEM only
Clean background -
Active Iowa license or IMLC
ATLS certification required for trauma privileges
