Position: Emergency Medicine Physician

Location: Indiana

Shift Requirements:

Shifts per Month: Minimum of 8-12 shifts
Minimum Shifts Required: 12 shifts per month
Experience:

Less than 10 years' experience preferred to expedite the credentialing process

Support Staff and Resources:

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) available
24-hour hospitalist coverage for admissions
24-hour real-time Radiology reading of all studies
24-hour in-house X-ray and CT with ultrasound on call at night
Patient Volume:

Daily Patients: 30-50, depending on the location
Annual Volume: 10,000-23,000 patient visits per emergency department
Trauma Level:

All locations are Level II Trauma Centers
Patient Demographics:

All ages
Electronic Medical Records (EMR):

EPIC
Responsibilities:

Manage multiple patients with a range of serious and non-serious illnesses and injuries, including heart attacks, stroke, motor vehicle accidents, severe infections, and pneumonia
Perform assessments, diagnostic procedures, and medical treatments as needed to resuscitate or stabilize patients
Refer patients to appropriate medical departments
Practice Setting:

Hospital (credentialing at 5 locations, streamlined through one credentialing process)
Requirements:

Board Certification: Must be BC in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or an accredited Emergency Medicine Fellowship program
State License: Indiana required
DEA License: Yes
Controlled Substance Registration (CSR): Yes
Certifications: If EM boarded, only DEA and CSR are required
