JOB DESCRIPTION

A facility in Long Island, New York, with an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide short-term locum Emergency Medicine coverage.

Opportunity Details:

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3-4 days per week, some weekend coverage
No call required
Multiple locations
Daily Volume: 50 patients during busy summer months
Cases: Procedures, cuts, fish hooks, managing x-rays, stabilizing and redirecting serious injury
Support Staff: MDs and APPs, 1:4 ratio
Must be board-certified

QUALIFICATIONS

Current DEA registration
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited institution.
Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York
Board certification i
Minimum of two years of clinical experience in an emergency room
Strong proficiency in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
Be highly collaborative, and enjoy leading care teams with a patient-centric orientation
Confident in his/her ability to deliver high quality primary care, which includes being available to patients and addressing their medical and social needs
