Critical Care PA Needed in CA

Job description

Location: San Francisco, CA

Start: June

26-week assignment

Will work a mix of the following units: SICU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU

• # of patients per day: 10-16 beds with an open ICU model doing consults
• Support staff: Day: Attending is already on staff. Night: APP only, attending is at home, but there is a critical care fellow 24/7. There are other attendings on staff as well, but available to assist. Open structure critical care, very collaborative, co-management model with the surgical & neuro services.
• Skills required: Central lines and arterial lines required.

In-house staff to assist where needed for moderate sedation, intubation assistance, complex vent and sedation management. Intubation not required but should be able to recognize when needed. Responsible for codes in the unit along with the rest of the entire team. Must be willing and capable to float to other subspecialties dependent upon census (SICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU, MICU) experience in multiple subspecialities strongly preferred.

• Board Certification: Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies Required.
• State License Required: Yes, State of CA
• DEA: Yes
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENLS (Emergency Neurological Life Support)
• Minimum experience required: 2 years required

• Credentialing Timeframe: 60 – 90 Days
