Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Locum Need in Ohio!

Job description

Specialty: Acute Care PNP
Start Date: October 2024
Contract Length: 3 months
Shift Details: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
Schedule: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM (including sign-out time, requiring arrival the night before the shift if not already present)

Work Details:

- Support Staff: 1 NP, MD from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (plus call support), emergency coverage from acute NICU attending, respiratory therapists (RTs), nurses, therapists
- Coverage Needed: 12 shifts per month
- Patients per Day: Average of 12
- Patient Population/Age: All patients > 36 weeks corrected gestational age, most > 50 weeks corrected; ~1/3 with tracheostomy and on a ventilator, ~1/3 intubated and either getting a trach or weaning to CPAP, others on varying degrees of CPAP or nasal cannula; common diagnoses include BPD, pulmonary hypertension, brain bleeds, feeding problems, and liver disease

- EMR: EPIC
- Hospital Bed Size: 673
- Special Procedures: High population of babies with BPD and trach/vent dependency

Skills Required:

Experience with BPD, trach/vent dependency, intubation, pulmonary hypertension, brain bleeds, feeding problems, liver disease

Practice Setting:
Hospital - Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center

Requirements:

- Board Certification: Must be acute care certified PNP
- State License Required: Yes
- DEA: Yes
- CSR: No
- Certifications Preferred: PALS
- Certifications Required: Acute care PNP, BLS, NRP
- Minimum Experience: 2 years in a similar setting

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
