This opportunity is based within a hub and spoke academic medical center network spanning four metropolitan campus locations throughout the Omaha area. The system offers robust inpatient support including APP assistance for weekday rounds, EPIC EMR, and a well-structured call model designed to minimize unnecessary after-hours on-site visits.

Physician - Cardiology
Job Details:
- Provide locum General Cardiology coverage across four hospital locations beginning December 2026 on an ongoing basis
- Onsite coverage hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM at Lakeside, Mercy Council Bluffs, and Immanuel (including some consults at Nebraska Spine Hospital inside Immanuel)
- Night call coverage: 4:30 PM - 8:00 AM covering all four sites (CUMC Bergan, Lakeside, Mercy Council Bluffs, and Immanuel) - not every night
- CUMC Bergan functions as secondary call coverage, with in-house fellows handling first call
- Most night call activity consists of phone consultations, with patients typically seen the following day
- Inpatient rounds supported by APPs on weekdays; no APP support on weekends or during call hours
- Required procedures: General Cardiology, ECHO, TEE, EKG, and Stress Testing
- EMR: EPIC
- Average census of 5-8 patients per campus
- Candidates must disclose specific available dates between December 1, 2026 and February 28, 2027 at time of submission
- Candidates must acknowledge that night call coverage spans all four sites when on call
- Candidates must detail the number of shifts per month they can offer on an ongoing basis at time of name clear
- Active Nebraska license or IMLC (Letter of Qualification in hand at time of submission) required
- Board Certification in Cardiology required
- Clean malpractice and background history required
- Credentialing timeframe: 90 days after completed application across all four metro campus locations
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
