Locums Anesthesiologist – Coastal Northern California | Full-Scope Cases + Flexible Schedule

Join a well-established anesthesia team at a Level III trauma hospital in a coastal Northern California community, surrounded by redwoods and rugged Pacific shoreline. This long-term locums opportunity starting April 2026 offers a true full-scope anesthesiology practice, a collegial group, and a flexible schedule that still supports meaningful work–life balance.

Position Highlights:
• Inpatient-only anesthesia at a regional referral hospital
• Start: April 1, 2026 | Duration: Ongoing
• Commitment: Minimum 5 shifts per month
• Mix of day, evening, night, and weekend/24-hr beeper call shifts
• Level III trauma center with broad surgical services
• EMR: Epic
• Travel and housing support available within program guidelines

Clinical Scope & Case Mix:
• Adult and pediatric anesthesia
• General, OB, peds, trauma
• Neurosurgical, thoracic, complex vascular and orthopedic cases
• Spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia
• Post-op epidural and extremity blocks
• Vent management, central and arterial line placement

You’ll be part of a collaborative anesthesia team that shares shifts and call fairly. Providers start on day shifts to get oriented before rotating into evening/night coverage.

Schedule & Call:
• Weekday day shifts starting at 7a (8–12 hours)
• Evening shift: 3p–11p
• Night shift: 7p–7a (2nd call early evening, 1st call overnight)
• Weekend shifts include daytime and 24-hr beeper call
• Weekend call is remote when not actively needed in-house

Ideal Candidate:
• Board-certified Anesthesiologist
• Active California license (required)
• At least 2 years of recent hospital-based anesthesiology experience
• Comfortable with full-scope practice including OB, peds, trauma, neuro, thoracic, vascular and regional techniques
• Team-oriented and willing to share nights/weekends to support a small, committed group
• Enjoys a coastal, outdoors-focused lifestyle and a slower-paced community setting
