Anesthesiologist needed near Evansdale, IA starting ASAP. Specific shifts available through the end of the year.

Job description

- Dates of Coverage: Specific dates TBD; ongoing sporadic coverage. Local providers strongly preferred due to sporadic need
- Schedule: 7a - 5p; locums rarely take call, but it's a possibility
- Reason for Need:Physician left, provider shortage
- EMR: Cerner
- Procedures: General surgical adult and pediatric cases; No neonatal. Minor nerve blocks, IV regional anesthesia, spinal, epidural, OB, Neuro is basic with 95% spine. Some thoracoscopy and AV fistula; no aorta surgeries or complicated vascular/complex orthopedic cases
- Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: 4-6
- Supervision of CRNAs: No; one CRNA supervised by the physician on first call
- Trauma Level: 3
- Number of Anesthesiologists in Practice: 12 Anesthesiologists and 1 CRNA
- Anesthesia Cart Preparation: Not required
- Patient Age Demographic: All ages; for Peds, mostly ENT - tubes & tonsils
- Number of Operating Rooms: Usually 9 rooms running at one time
- Fellowship Training Required: No for cardiac or pediatric cases
- Local Providers: Strongly preferred; full travel paid if needed
- Positions Available: Locum, locum to perm, perm
- Credentialing Timeframe: 4-6 weeks if provider/agency is prompt; quicker if application is clean
- Requirements:
- Evidence of graduation from an accredited medical school (MD or DO)
- Graduation from an accredited ACGME or AOA anesthesia residency program
- Board Certified (Not accepting BE)
- Active IA license or IMLC (Upload copy of LOQ at time of name clear)
- NRP, ACLS (can obtain during credentialing)
- Local/Drive-in candidate strongly preferred
- Availability required, noted at time of name clear
- COVID Vaccine - Required
