Assignment Duration: May – July (Up to Full-Time coverage)
Shift: Night Shift (NOC) 19:00 – 07:30
Status: Inpatient Trauma Hospitalist / Rounder
Position Overview
Join a premier Level I Adult & Pediatric Trauma Center as a Trauma Hospitalist APP. This role functions with high autonomy, providing primary management for trauma patients from admission through discharge. You will work alongside 24-hour on-site Trauma Surgeons and a full suite of specialty backup.
Clinical Responsibilities
Primary Role: Function as a Trauma Hospitalist rounder; you will serve as the primary attending for all patient conditions (this facility does not utilize general hospitalists).
Clinical Duties: Respond to ED Trauma Alerts, facilitate admissions/discharges, and provide daily management of complex trauma cases.
Patient Volume: * Non-ICU Rounding: 10–14 patients per day.
ICU Rounding: 6 patients per day.
Admissions/ED: 2–15 patients per 24-hour period.
Procedures: Ventilation management (Invasive/Non-invasive), Chest Tube insertion, Central Lines, Arterial Lines, and minor suturing.
Autonomy: High level of autonomy with Trauma Surgeon support available 24/7.
Submission & Candidate Requirements
To ensure agency profit and successful placement, all candidates must meet the following strict criteria at the time of name clear:
Licensure: Active Minnesota License in hand [REQUIRED].
Certification: Board Certified PA-C, ACNP, or AGNP only. (No FNPs) [REQUIRED].
Life Support: Current ATLS, PALS, and ACLS [REQUIRED].
Experience: Minimum one year of APP experience in an inpatient setting. High preference for Trauma, ICU, or Orthopedic backgrounds.
Compliance: Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report (must be pulled within the same month as submission).
DEA: Verbal confirmation of active DEA required at submission
EMR: Epic.
