Behavioral Trainer - Support Learners in Oak Park

Position Title: Trainer

Position Summary:
Trainers are the primary direct care professionals at Behavioral Learning, responsible for providing in-person instruction and support to learners in accordance with individualized Learning and Treatment Plans. Trainers contribute feedback to programming designed by the Leadership team,and deliver services with consistency, compassion, and clinical integrity. This is a hands-on clinical role focused on skill acquisition, behavior support, and meaningful learner outcomes. This is an in-person role requiring active engagement with learners in center-based and community settings.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide direct, in-person services to learners as outlined in Learning and Treatment Plans
Implement teaching strategies and behavior support interventions with fidelity and compassion
Teach Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), emotional regulation, and foster healthy interpersonal communication via individual and group formats
Collect accurate and timely data on learner behavior
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support consistency and learner progress
Assist with parent and family supports as directed by clinical leadership
Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment in center-based and community settings
Follow all safety protocols, including approved behavior intervention and de-escalation procedures
Complete required documentation and administrative tasks related to learner treatment and support
Uphold ethical standards and organizational values of compassion, collaboration, and belonging

Qualifications:
High school diploma required
Ability to work in a physically active role, including standing, moving, and engaging in community-based activities (reasonable accommodations available)
Strong communication, collaboration, and professionalism

Required Credentials & Certifications (Within 90 Days of Hire):
Safety Care™ Specialist certification (see Safety Care Trainee Manual for physical requirements)
CPR/First Aid certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) in good standing with the BACB, -or-
DHS Level 2 Behavior Intervention Service Provider in good standing, -or-
Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) in good standing with DHS
