About the clinician's workday

The model consists of 5 MDs and 12 CRNAs, with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek. The facility is medically directed and has 199 licensed beds with a tertiary-care focus. They handle 6,700 cases annually, including over 400 open heart surgeries, and maintain an active perioperative TEE program. Other cases include general, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, neuro (minimal cranies), spines, ENT, urology, plastics, gastroenterology, cardiology, and special procedures. They have an active post-operative pain management service focusing on ultrasound-guided and neuraxial blocks, with minimal to no pediatrics. The group does not handle OB or chronic pain management. Weekends are staffed for clinical urgencies, and emergency call obligations are shared equally with no in-house call. Services are provided to over 10 anesthetizing locations, operating 5 days a week.
