A large hospital is seeking a hematologist/oncologist for locum tenens coverage.

About the clinician's workday

The schedule for this position consists of four 10-hour shifts, with the first patient scheduled at 8 AM and the last one at or before 4 PM. On Fridays, the clinic is open until noon, and locums may see patients from 8 AM to 12 PM or use the time to catch up on notes. Call coverage is required from Thursday at 5 PM to the following Thursday at 5 PM, with no admitting privilegesonly consulting privileges for inpatient care. Typically, admits are sent to Nebraska Medical or the University of Colorado, and handling six patients over a weekend would be considered a high volume. The EMR and treatment planning system used is EPIC. An active state license is preferred for candidates.
