LocumTenens.com history
CEO Rick Jackson, founder and former CEO of Jackson & Coker, started LocumTenens.com with three former Jackson & Coker executives: Mike Davis, Lisa Kaeck and Pam McKemie
They wanted to hire the best and keep them.
They envisioned a physician recruitment firm built on solid industry experience, high ethical standards and cutting-edge technology.
They wanted to place the best doctors in choice assignments, so physicians and clients they’d served would be their strongest sales tools.
They wanted to change the way the healthcare marketplace viewed “locum tenens” services.
A decade later, LocumTenens.com is an industry leader. We dedicate staff to taking good care of our doctors and clients, so we become their preferred physician recruitment firm.
A legacy of innovation
As the founder and longtime chief executive of Jackson & Coker, LocumTenens.com CEO Rick Jackson pioneered retained physician search back in the late 1970s.
In 1995 he teamed up with several former J&C associates to establish what was then known as Quest Staffing Solutions. Together those executives bring to physicians and healthcare organizations more than 100 years of experience in physician recruitment.
Once again ahead of the curve in foreseeing the “dot.com boom,” Jackson and his partners in 1999 changed the company’s name to LocumTenens.com and established the only free online physician job board covering a broad range of specialties and opportunities — both temporary and permanent. It was a counter-intuitive move and a risky step at the time, but the bet paid off.
In 2006, LocumTenens.com launched its second decade of physician
recruitment with a more robust physician job board and a new corporate
identity.
Considering the company’s history and track record, LocumTenens.com leadership expects to continue innovating, delivering impressively and growing for the foreseeable future.
